Membership

Membership to FIDA Kenya is open to Kenyan women lawyers and women law students as provided for in the FIDA Kenya constitution. Ideally a member should be committed to vision of FIDA Kenya and be willing to volunteer her services for the purposes of promoting and safeguarding women’s rights in Kenya. The FIDA Kenya membership now stands at 600.The FIDA Kenya constitution provides for 4 categories of membership which are:
  •  Student members
  •  Practicing women lawyers
  •  Affiliate members
  •   Honorary members

 The FIDA Kenya Council recommends Honorary and Affiliate members.

How to apply for membership

1.        Complete an application form available at the FIDA Kenya website and all FIDA Kenya offices

2.        Get two fully paid up members to support your membership. An updated list is available at the FIDA Kenya offices and FIDA Kenya members are always willing to assist applicants wishing to join the organisation.

3.        Submit your application to the nearest FIDA Kenya office for consideration.

Membership benefits

In order to enjoy their membership fully and to contribute to the vision and mission of FIDA Kenya, FIDA Kenya members are encouraged to participate in various activities of the organisation including the Pro Bono lawyers’ scheme. The following are some of the membership benefits:
