Sophie Kaibiria
Sophie Kaibiria is an experienced advocate with a proven record in research, drafting, and programme planning and management. She has imparted 11 years of law democracy and governance skills in key in access to justice institutions that lead to improved gender mainstreaming in governance, administration of justice, expeditious trial processes, enhanced professional capacities, and improved justice system infrastructure.
Sophie graduated from Moi University with a degree in law which she has further enhanced with a post-graduate certificate and a master's degree from the University of London and Nairobi University respectively. The academic specialisation is in commercial and corporate law; law democracy and governance correspondingly.
Due to her passion for law and democracy, Sophie has had great achievements in the Justice sector. Her notable positions of influence include:
1. The first Program manager for the Court Users Committees(CUCs) under the National Council on the Administration of Justice(NCAJ) that saw to the institutionalisation of access to justice through the court system throughout the country;
2. The first Cohort of the legal researchers employed by the Judiciary of Kenya post Constitution 2010 and as part of the implementation of the Judicial Service Act;and
3. The Project Officer deployed under the Kenya National Dialogue and Reconciliation process under the (then) Ministry of Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs to oversee the initial implementation of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
Sophie is an avid reader and a believer in artistic expressions who is influenced by her husband and children to constantly improve her goals.
